A few months ago, after doing some much-need, eye-opening research on my beauty products, I discovered 100% Pure. In my previous posts about switching to cleaner cosmetics and My Break Up With Makeup, I talked about my quest for a new, toxin-free beauty routine and products I found along the way. But, today I wanted to post about 100% Pure since I purchased several of their products and I’m in love.
Makeup love. Hey, when you know… you know.
This is my review on 100% Pure since I use it, love it and want to share how the-bomb-dot-com it is. Oh, and they are toxin & cruelty-free. You can read more about what their makeup doesn’t have here.
Since I hate the notion of “selfies” and holding a DSLR camera up to take one is nearly impossible, I asked my BFF Monica to be my model. She is basically my sister from another mister, so we do these fun makeovers often and it gives us some much needed sister-talk time.
This is her “before” shot (as if she even needs makeup, right?).
First, let me just point out that this girl is beautiful… and I’m not saying that because I’m biased (ok, maybe a little). She is a beautiful canvas to work with.. her smooth skin, those eyes, her smile and her incredibly thick and LONG (like, Snuffaluffagus long) eyelashes. Those features would make any girl green with envy.
And how cute are her freckles?! OK, ok, moving on..
Since my makeup routine is simple and I prefer a casual look daily, I went with a simple look for her. Here is what is in my makeup bag old Pampers tub.
1. Luminous Primer – Smooths and illuminates skin and creates base for your foundation. I only really use this for special occasions.
2. Healthy Skin Foundation – {in White Peach} this is a full coverage/satin finish foundation. Again, I only wear this once in a while.
3. Brightening Concealer – {In Creme} This stuff is amazing! I wear it mostly around my eyes and to highlight.
4. Healthy Flawless Skin Foundation Powder – {In White Peach} I love this powder. I wear this daily, it’s smooth, light and doesn’t look cakey at all.
5. Cocoa Pigmented Bronzer – Cocoa Glow – I use this mostly for contouring and in the summer months. This one container will probably last me forever.
6. Apparently I can’t count… and I left 6 out. Or was it the invisible text again? What’s in my coffee? … I will never tell.
7. Fruit Pigmented Powdered Eye Shadows – These eye shadows are great for light, everyday wear. I went with Champagne, Toffee and Pearl to use for a natural look and for highlighting.
8. Fruit Pigmented Mascara – I am pretty finicky about my mascara… but when I read reviews about this mascara I was curious. The reviews were spot on.. it’s pretty stellar. And it smells like fruit. I don’t know how they do it. Little magic fruit elves maybe?
9. Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream – This came as a free sample with a makeup order and I LOVE it. It smells amazing, and its one of the smoothest facial creams I have ever used. When I run out I will definitely be ordering more.

Even though I have all of the above in my makeup bin, I started with just a few products. I started with the powder, 2 eye shadows and mascara and slowly worked my way up to having the rest. I don’t wear everything listed every day, and I ration what I do use so I don’t blow the bank for a pretty face.
I was skeptical to try “organic” makeup because I didn’t know what companies I could trust, if the makeup would work, if it would cause me to break out, etc. I can honestly say that I wear this brand everyday and I love it. I have the best skin I’ve had in a while. And as you can see, it looks really pretty on her..
So, there you have it… 100% Pure is legit. They rock. They make me excited about makeup again. I think this relationship is going to last…
